The Great (Poop) Escape(s)

My son’s first poop was a joyous celebration! My wife and I cheered and gave each other high-fives. We were so excited to see proof that his insides were working properly. We were jumping for joy to have a concrete and visible reason to cover his bottom with that drawer full of diapers. We laughed with glee each time our little man filled his pants with a special surprise and got a satisfied look on his face. This feeling of joy, however, has changed. In the past two weeks my son has been having a problem with his diapers. When … Continue reading

The Missing Diapers!

Last time I talked about the horror of discovering that our son wasn’t just losing diapers. It wasn’t a magic gnome removing his diapers during the day by some crazy means. It turned out that our son was removing his own diapers (to our horror) and running around the house like a little nudist. Murphy Helps With… Almost everything. He helps me: 1) bring in the mail 2) mail stuff out 3) bring in groceries 4) load up recyclables for dropping off (Which sometimes he … Continue reading

We’ve been through a lot since we left New Jersey: his late night escape from the hotel room as we drove cross country, an attack at the dog park, learning to slip out of his collar, and getting hit by a car and losing his tail. Now Moose has developed a new bad habit: snacking on animal droppings. Yes, my special boy has started eating poop. MUCH to my dismay and disgust. So why do dogs eat animal droppings? A dog’s taste buds aren’t as sensitive as human taste buds. The smell and the texture … Continue reading
