A small pile of leaves

So… it’s Autumn. We moved to a less desert-like climate and, as a direct consequence of that action, we’re experiencing the glory of Autumn instead of just a colder “brownness.” As I type this our front door is open to allow the sound of leaves blowing in the wind, falling on the grass, and blowing down the street into our home (along with the cooler air). The Joys Falling Leaves

When I was a kid (it sounds so weird to say that because I still feel like one) I lived in Iowa. Iowa, luckily, experiences the full force of each of the four seasons. Summer is hot and winter is cold. Spring is wet, warming, blooming and beautiful while autumn shows the dying process in beautiful colors while making sweaters begin to not look ridiculous once more. The Vampire, The Cheerleader, and the Giraffe

Near a year ago my wife and I had a dilemma. Our son was not yet a year old and we were struggling with whether or not we should buy him a costume and “stroll” him from house to house collecting candy so that he could participate in the festivities for that odd cultural phenomenon known as Halloween.
